About us

Local people, caring for local families.

Savoy Place is independently owned and operated, right here in Savoy, Illinois.

Savoy Place was purpose-built for memory care, designed in partnership by a senior care nurse and an architect who spent his entire career in senior housing. Today it is operated by a dedicated, experienced, and caring team of professionals who work every day to make residents’ lives better, safer, and more engaging.

Our team

Danielle, Executive Director at Savoy Place

Danielle

Executive Director

I have spent over 22 years working in assisted living and senior healthcare, and throughout my career I have learned that some of the most meaningful moments come from simply being there for someone. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, I understand that dementia affects not only the person living with it but also the family members who love them. I believe families deserve compassion, understanding, and support throughout the journey, whether they are navigating the first signs of memory loss, making the difficult decision to seek additional care, or adjusting to the changes that come with time. I want families to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and knowing they have someone in their corner. My approach to care is personal, and I believe in treating every resident with the same kindness, patience, and respect I would want for my own family. As Executive Director of Savoy Place Memory Care, I bring my experience, compassion, and a hands-on approach to my role. For me, this work is about building genuine relationships, being a source of reassurance for families, and remembering that behind every resident is a person with a lifetime of stories and a family that wants the very best for them.

Richard, Clinical Services Director, RN at Savoy Place

Richard

Clinical Services Director, RN

My name is Richard, and I am proud to serve as the Clinical Services Director at Savoy Place Memory Care. I have over 15 years of healthcare experience. I began my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while working through school to become a Registered Nurse (RN). I am also a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a pastor, both of which have strengthened my passion for serving others with compassion, patience, and understanding. Caring for seniors, especially those living with dementia, is more than a career to me. It is a calling. I am grateful to be part of the Savoy Place team and look forward to making a positive impact every day.

Jasmin, Community Relations Director at Savoy Place

Jasmin

Community Relations Director

I serve as the Community Relations Director and am a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner (CDP). With a year of experience in senior living and currently pursuing my BA in Psychology, I am passionate about building meaningful relationships and helping families navigate the complexities of memory care. My passion is deeply personal. I cared for my grandmother with dementia before our family made the difficult decision to seek additional care. I take pride in fostering community connections, supporting the growth of our community, and making sure families feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.

John, Director of Dining & Environmental Services at Savoy Place

John

Director of Dining & Environmental Services

I have over 15 years of experience in assisted living and supportive living, with a background in building maintenance and safety. I am also a Certified Dietary Manager and Certified Dementia Practitioner, which allows me to bring both practical experience and a person-centered approach to my work. I have always enjoyed the culinary side of what I do, especially cooking for our residents and finding ways to make holidays and special occasions feel extra special. There is something rewarding about bringing people together over a good meal and seeing the smiles it brings. I enjoy getting to know our residents, sharing conversations, and being part of their daily lives. I believe it is often the little things that make the biggest difference, whether it is making sure our homes are safe and comfortable, preparing a favorite treat, or taking time to brighten someone's day. I take pride in my warm desserts, and I can usually tell they were a hit when the plates come back clean. For me, it is all about making residents feel at home and creating moments they can enjoy with the people around them.

Why the household model

Most memory care is one large building with a nurses’ station and a long hallway of rooms. We chose to do it differently. Savoy Place is built as small cottage households instead of one big facility, each with its own kitchen, dining room, living room, and porches. There is enough space to live, but not so much that anyone feels lost or overwhelmed. Because caregivers belong to a household rather than a rotation down a hallway, your loved one is cared for by the same familiar faces who know their routines, their stories, and how they take their coffee. Meals are cooked right in the home, every bedroom is private, and the whole cottage becomes their home. It is a smaller, calmer, more personal way to live, and for memory care we believe it is simply better.
